Job Description & Summary

A career in our Risk Modeling Services practice will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, regulators, and third party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.

Our team helps our clients address new financial reporting requirements by assessing the financial and business impacts of regulations, building implementation plans, and implementing relevant requirements, particularly across areas of financial reporting change.

Our Associate's role in PwC's core actuarial and insurance services provided to clients is to:
  • Provide clients advice and counsel in the areas of process improvement, risk and capital management, value analyses and actuarial and quantitative modeling
  • Participate in a wide range of projects by leveraging creative thinking and individual initiative
  • Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism
  • Identify and address client needs

Accounting, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics

Additional Educational Requirements:

Client service associate positions are entry-level roles and job seekers have completed or are in the process of completing their final academic year of educational requirements.

Certification(s) Preferred:
The completion of two Actuarial exams.


Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
An understanding of actuarial science, applied statistics, risk and capital management, value analyses, and financial reporting standards, including in the following areas:
  • Researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and technical matters;
  • Exhibiting problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
  • Interacting with various levels of client and firm management through both written and verbal communications; and,
  • Possessing the ability to self-motivate and take responsibility for personal growth and development.

The salary range for this position is: $53,500 - $103,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. For roles that are based in Maryland, this is the listed salary range for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
