Summary of Position:

Lead and manage the engineering work of the digital product build

Provide development expertise to Agile team in the definition, design, development, and implementation of eCommerce solutions.  Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including Production Support, BAs, Architect, Project Managers, and Product Owners to deliver high quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Alcon’s digital products
• Contribute to enhancements and changes to existing B2B/B2B2C applications codebase.
• Contribute to front end technologies using MERN (MongoDB, ExpressJS, ReactJS, NodeJS) stack and integrations
• Lead the Design, Code, Unit Test, document and implement new applications & as well as existing programs.
• Ensure the code complies with design specifications and meets security and Typescript best practices.
• Set up and manage coding standards
• Comfortable working in a loosely structured, fast-paced organisation.
• Create documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for future enhancements and refinements to standards, best practices, and development methodologies.
• Work closely with project team and other stakeholders
• Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate, to ensure the quality of work delivered by self and teammates are in accordance with development standards.
• Interact with business units to define requirements/modifications and use case to utilise in designing appropriate solutions.
• Create and maintain scalable infrastructure leveraging modern AWS cloud platforms
• Knowledge of all development aspects within an Agile SDLC framework, including; estimation, design, development, unit test,  code reviews, and documentation

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of applicable experience
• Experience: 9 + years of applicable development experience and people management
  • Responsive applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Modern AWS architecture, ecommerce platforms, Node JS
  • API Development using REST, JSON and GraphQL
  • Experience with version control systems, Bitbucket/Git

• Proven experience with data validation, form submission & processing, and performance tuning
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, JSON, and multi-threaded web services
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, along with JIRA, Bitbucket, Slack, and Git.
• Strong written and technical communication skills
• Integration development experience with Third-Party systems (e.g. payment gateways, SAP ECC, Mulesoft, etc.)
• Familiarity with React-Native
• Experience with SAP Hybris or other eCommerce applications is a plus

The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
