Director of Product Integration

Location: Shanghai/Shenzhen, China

Focus: AI Data Center Infrastructure – Optical Connection, Robotics

Role Overview

As a Director of Product Integration and Engineering Leader at Analog Devices, you will define how to integrate existing or new technology for next generation products for high-speed optical interconnects and robotics applications. You will bridge the gap between complex optical systems and ICs, acting as the primary architect for ICs that power AI data centers. Your expertise will guide a world-class team of IC designers to expand ADI’s portfolio in EML, Silicon Photonics (SiPh) controllers, TIAs, and Laser Drivers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Strategy: Interact with customers who build optical transceivers and other subsystems for optical communications (like Optical Circuit Switch). Define technical requirements and specifications for next-generation optical ICs (TIA, Driver, Controller) to support 800G, 1.6/3.2T, and motion control in robotic applications.
  • Portfolio Expansion: Identify gaps in the current optical communication and robotic market and lead the development of new IC concepts to capture AI-driven data center growth.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with Analog IC Design teams in Shanghai and globally to ensure architectural specs are met through tape-out and silicon validation.
  • AI Ecosystem Integration: Collaborate with system architects to ensure ADI components meet the stringent latency, power, and thermal demands of modern AI clusters.
  • Technical Mentorship: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for optical physics and high-speed signal integrity, motion control.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of deep-rooted experience in the Optical Communication or Robotics field, specifically focused on IC architecture or system-level design.
  • Domain Expertise: Proven track record with utilization of optical components such as:
    • EML (Electro-absorption Modulated Lasers) and Silicon Photonics control loops.
    • High-bandwidth TIAs (Transimpedance Amplifiers) and Laser Drivers.
    • Robotics system level design, motion control, sensing.
  • Education: Master’s Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics (Optics), or a related field.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the optical module industry (QSFP-DD, OSFP) and the specific needs of hyperscale data centers or robotic motion control industry.
  • Language: Professional fluency in English and Mandarin is essential for collaboration with global HQ and local design teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in advanced CMOS, BiCMOS, or SiGe processes.
  • Understanding of PAM4 modulation, FEC, and DSP integration in optical links.
  • Strong network within the Chinese and global optical ecosystem.
