Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Leader to join our growing team in Lafayette, LA!

The Accounting & Operations Leader primary responsibilities include accounting and financial reporting for the profit center. This person also oversees the day-to-day operations of the entire office.

How You Will Contribute: 

• Thoroughly know and understand the components which make up the Brown & Brown accounting requirements, which are included in the Brown & Brown Accounting Guidelines
• Prepare and report monthly financial reports, meeting required corporate deadlines
• Prepare a monthly forecast, as required. An indication of actions that can be taken to minimize variances should be provided
• Assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget.
• Focus of all efforts should result in accurate information provided in a proactive manner
• Must understand the impact of financial results reporting and use of forecasting to assure desired results
• Ensure compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures
• Oversee Accounting Staff in order to effectively attain responsibilities and objectives.
• Pursues a course of personal, professional development.

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Exceptional telephone demeanor
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• 5 years’ experience in a similar position
• Master’s degree in a business or financial related discipline (preferred)
