Job Description:

Orthopedic Clinic Manager

Functions as a Manager within the leadership structure of the orthopedic service line at Bay Area Hospital. Responsible for the day-to-day operations, coordination, and performance of assigned orthopedic departments and services. In collaboration with the Orthopedic Medical Director(s) and service line leadership, this role executes operational plans, supports quality initiatives, ensures regulatory compliance, and manages personnel and financial performance within the orthopedic clinic and related service areas. The Orthopedic Clinic Manager works collaboratively across departments including perioperative services, inpatient nursing, imaging, rehabilitation, scheduling, prior authorization, and marketing to ensure coordinated, high-quality, and efficient orthopedic patient care.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates strong operational leadership and organizational skills
  • Exercises sound judgment and effective critical thinking
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a dynamic healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of orthopedic clinical workflow in inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and regulatory standards
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across departments
  • Financial and budgeting knowledge appropriate to department-level management
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and reporting tools
  • Ability to build and lead an effective team

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Clinical Science, or related field (required)

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience
  • Experience in orthopedic, surgical services, or ambulatory clinic operations preferred
  • Experience managing direct reports required
  • Experience with quality improvement and operational process improvement preferred
