What You Will Do:
Perform day-to-day administration of VMware ESXi, vCenter Server, and storage systems (e.g., vSAN, SAN, NAS).
Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing virtualized environments, ensuring efficient use of hardware resources through virtual machines and containers.
This position will optimize system performance, enhance scalability, and troubleshoot virtualization-related issues in cloud or on-premise infrastructure.
Will use expertise in hypervisors, virtualization platforms and automation tools to support seamless infrastructure operations.
Perform patching of ESXi, vCenter, and related storage systems when applicable.
Installation and configuration of ESXi, vCenter, and storage resources as required.
Perform compliance/hardening of newly configured ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and storage systems to remain compliant with new compliance baselines.
Administer and optimize storage solutions, including provisioning, monitoring, and ensuring performance and availability for virtualized workloads.
Use Site Recovery Manager (SRM) for disaster recovery testing and maintaining backups.
Utilize vROps to pull reports regarding resource utilization across the Virtual Environment and associated storage.
Administration and configuration of Cisco UCS servers using UCS Manager.
Firmware management of Cisco UCS Servers and storage-related components.
Maintain and contribute to enterprise source code and configuration (git) repositories.
Support automating tasks using client automation tools, with a focus on streamlining storage management tasks.
Execute troubleshooting skills to address stability objectives both reactively and proactively, particularly focusing on storage-related issues (e.g., latency, capacity management).
Research and document process flows, including storage workflows for VM provisioning, backup, and recovery.
Research, determine, and analyze user requirements, and define system or site scope and objectives, including storage requirements for virtualization environments.
Provide 24x7x365 remote support services and on-premises facility response as needed.
What You Will Need:
At Minimum Four(4) years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s degree. In lieu of degree Four (4) additional years of experience will be needed.
Experience with storage integration in a virtualized environment, including managing and provisioning storage resources, storage migration, and troubleshooting performance issues related to storage.
Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter.
Storage systems expertise, including VMware vSAN, traditional SAN, and NAS.
Nutanix administration experience preferred.
Experience utilizing Site Recovery Manager for disaster recovery.
Cisco UCS Servers for compute and storage resource management.
Experience writing scripts in PowerShell, PowerCLI, or Bash to automate VMware tasks and storage-related workflows.
Experience with managing data storage lifecycle processes, from provisioning to decommissioning, while ensuring data integrity and performance.
Must be able to work well in a collaborative team environment but also independently.
Strong detail orientation supported by the ability to take a structured approach to achieve long-term objectives and build sustainable routines.
Demonstrates the ability to lead efforts of analysis and resolution of problems or issues, including those related to virtualized storage; identifies when and how to escalate problems to the appropriate level.
Strong documentation skills, organizational skills, and communication skills with the ability to interact cross-functionally with team members.
Ability to work on multiple projects effectively and efficiently with varying deadlines and levels of importance.
Experience and comfort with change and ambiguity given the ever-evolving nature of the business.
Experience collaborating with Technology and Business Teams to deliver data and technology solutions that meet business objectives.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
