Job Description

Pillsbury’s Corporate & Securities Business Unit is seeking a proactive and highly motivated associate with 2-4 years of corporate experience. This role offers client-facing opportunities, mentorship and training, and business development exposure. The associate will be based in our Austin or Houston, Texas office, with opportunities to collaborate with lawyers across the firm.

The ideal candidate will have experience advising public and private companies on a broad range of general corporate matters and managing complex commercial transactions. Consistent with the mixture of work performed by our Texas team, experience working in the following areas is preferred: emerging technology companies; venture capital and private equity transactions; energy projects; joint ventures; and mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with corporate lawyers in Texas and cross-functional teams across the firm to deliver exceptional client service.
• Demonstrate adaptability and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines while producing high-quality work.
• Communicate effectively – both verbally and in writing – with colleagues and clients on sophisticated corporate transactions.
• Show initiative and leadership, with a desire to take on increasing responsibility, stay current on legal developments, and contribute to thought leadership.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 2-4 years of corporate experience, ideally including current or prior experience at an Am Law 100 firm.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Thorough understanding of professional ethics and conduct standards applicable to legal practice.
• Admission to the Texas bar, or eligibility for admission.
