Western Express is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join the BI team and contribute to the growth of our reporting and analysis solutions. In this role, you will contribute on the BI team to create stakeholder reporting and offerings using data cleansing and mining expertise, data modeling, and business intelligence tooling. We are seeking an individual with excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with technical and business stakeholders, and the drive to own deliverables and initiatives while working both self-directed and on team projects. As a Business Intelligence Analyst at Western Express, you will spend 50% of your time writing complex queries in T-SQL and the remaining 50% of your time developing data visualizations in our BI tool, WebFOCUS.

In this role, you will:

  • Use T-SQL to access and update tables, views, stored procedures, etc.
  • Ingest data from various internal systems, track key performance indicators, and build custom dashboards and repeatable analyses
  • Develop tools to support end user's needs using MS SQL Suite, TIBCO Webfocus, AS400, SQL Viewpoint, or researching options not currently used internally
  • Own the creation and enhancement of reporting tools for stakeholder use
  • Field ad-hoc requests from stakeholders to provide accurate datasets for fast decision making
  • Simplify time-intensive and error-prone processes through the development of programmatic solutions
  • Document processes and procedures
  • Work with BI Team Leads on project priorities and deliverable timelines
  • Personal development and continuing education encouraged and supported
  • Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining
  • Designs, develops, implements, and maintains business solutions

Success in this role will be defined by:

  • Strong technical accomplishments in SQL and data analysis skills using other tools
  • Comfortable dealing with large and complex data sets, and have experience building self-service dashboards and using visualization tools
  • Providing user-friendly and effective reporting tools to end users using TIBCO Webfocus
  • Managing multiple complex projects in a methodical and structured way
  • Strong communication with teammates and in working with stakeholders
  • Turn business questions into data solutions optimized for reporting
  • Demonstrating solution-oriented and motivated attitude

Qualifications:

  • Have 1-2 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Data Developer, or Data Engineer role using SQL
  • Have 1-2 years of experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, Webfocus, etc.)
  • Eager self-starter
  • Great communicator
  • Strong focus on stakeholder satisfaction
  • Able to work across teams to accomplish goals
  • Dedication to the quality and ownership of your work products
  • TIBCO Webfocus experience is a plus
