In this pivotal role, you will advise the Company, including its senior business leaders, on global employment-related matters and work closely with stakeholders in Human Resources, People Relations, Ethics, Privacy, and Compliance. Areas of responsibility will include all geographic regions covered by the Company, including the Americas, with a focus on the Middle East, Africa, and APAC regions.
Role Responsibilities
Advise, train, and support internal stakeholders in areas of employment law including discrimination, family and medical leaves, pay equity, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging initiatives, wage and hour laws, reductions in force, drug testing, background checks, use of contingent workforce, performance and conduct management, whistleblower complaints, workplace investigations, and sales compensation plans.
Draft legal documents including offer letters, employment contracts, retention agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, and release agreements.
Review and develop employee policies and handbooks in partnership with HR globally.
Advise on the employment aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating employment covenants, drafting and advising on the enforcement of post-termination restrictions, and advising on best practices for the protection of trade secrets and confidential information.
Lead, manage, and conduct workplace investigations of potential employee misconduct and provide support to the Company’s ethics program, known as the Business Integrity Office.
Provide guidance on legal and compliance trends and regulations affecting the workplace.
Manage employment law matters, including litigation, and partner with stakeholders in various regions.
Provide legal guidance for the Company’s Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) program and partner with the Company’s ESG Program Office.
Act as a role model for the legal department, take a leadership role in developing the profile of the team within the company, assist the team and broader legal department with its strategy, and promote efficient and effective ways of working.
Role Requirements
At least 6+years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department with demonstrable expertise advising in employment and labor law in US and globally.
Experience advising on matters in Middle East, Africa, and APAC preferred, but not required.
Experience conducting and/or coordinating workplace investigations preferred, but not required.
A Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited school of law and admitted to at least one U.S. state bar.
Excellent judgment and ability to assess risks.
Experience providing the highest quality legal advice while managing regulatory and reputational risk and business needs.
Keen business acumen and the ability to take a firm position to protect the Company’s interests.
Proven experience effectively managing complex employment-related litigation matters and disputes to resolution.
History of rigorous analysis of complex issues and proven delivery of pragmatic solutions to problems.
Demonstrated ability to present legal concepts clearly and effectively, especially to a non-legal audience in a commercially astute manner.
Superior communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport, confidence, and trust with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to influence and challenge business partners in a constructive and persuasive manner.
Well-organized and execution-oriented with ability to effectively prioritize work.
Must be approachable, self-starting, and have a positive, solution-focused attitude, with the ability to work autonomously, be responsive, and prioritize work.

Salary
The base salary range is $175,000 - $200,000 USD per year, total on target compensation includes a base salary plus long-term and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance.
