Pay Range
$20.80 - $31.20EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. One-year work experience in a medical office preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Schedules referral appointments for patients as directed by provider. 2. Provides the patient with privacy, and instructions to assure a high quality result. 3. Answers incoming calls in a prompt manner. 4. Answers medical record and billing questions as needed. 5. Calls insurance companies and pre-certifies referral requests. 6. Serves as a role model for customer service and supports the staff in this process. 7. Answers telephone calls, records messages for providers and staff. 8. Understands and can perform duties associated with basic medical office procedures such as data entry, filing, and examination of charts for accuracy and completeness. 9. May fill-in for other support staff when necessary.
