If you are passionate about data and like working in a fast-paced, start-up environment within the largest company in the U.S., we invite you to join a fun-loving, innovative team that sits at the heart of WMC.   As WMC enters its “Era of Measurement”, the Manager, Data Analytics – Insights Support (Omni/In-store Ads) role will drive data transparency on the growth and development of Omni/In-store Ads through expedited extraction of insights.  In partnership with our Insights team, this role will serve as the data analytics authority to Directors on high-visibility projects, and reports into centralized Business Analysis team within Business Operations and reports directly to the Senior Manager, Business Analysis and Insights.

Responsibilities: 

Have the skills and abilities to support subject matter leads on the Insight team and all other teams involved in growing Walmart's ads business. Your focus lies in delivering valuable insights and analyses:

  • Data Analytics Ownership: you will take charge of analyzing and evaluating the performance of Omni/In-store Ads. Through detailed data-centric analyses on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, and identify important factors contributing to performance outcomes.
  • Metric Tracking: you will track essential input and output metrics that serve as the foundation for recurring reporting rhythms. This enables expedited extraction of valuable insights. Additionally, you’ll help measure opportunities, risks, and other success metrics related to all aspects of our ads.
  • Data-driven Insights: you’ll use a hypothesis-first approach, statistical techniques, and technical data languages like SQL and DAX for PowerBI, create data-driven insights. By manipulating data from multiple datasets within the ecomm environment, I uncover patterns and trends.
  •  Regular and Ad Hoc Analyses: You will conduct both regular and ad hoc analyses, addressing data-related queries and providing comprehensive data stories. This includes participating in business reviews and presentations alongside partners. Your focus throughout is on ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • With your expertise in data analysis generation, you will be well-equipped to contribute to the success of Walmart's ads business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years’ experience conducting mathematical or statistical research, analysis and modeling intelligence, corporate security, or related area OR 4 years’ experience conducting mathematical or statistical research, analysis and modeling intelligence, corporate security, or related area.
  • Previous data analytics experience and familiarity with complex data sets along with the ability to interpret and manipulate data to identify patterns, particularly in Media & Advertising, eCommerce and/or CPG/retail background
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets) with proven records. Familiarity of data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Has attentiveness to details with the ability to quickly identify and/or correct irregularities.

The annual salary range for this position is $104,000.00-$202,000.00
