The Web Content Specialist implements Mercury’s digital marketing strategies and programs across the company’s brand portfolio. The Web Content Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day management of various digital platforms as well as product launches, online tools, web application development, digital content updates, user experience design and site optimization. This role routinely interfaces with Mercury’s brand and creative teams as well as IT, MarTech and product category teams in the US and globally. This individual implements processes and methodologies that deliver best-in-class digital experiences while ensuring quality and brand salience. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Brand Marketing, success in this role requires an ability to collaborate with internal and external partners, prioritize internal requests, manage agile methods, and collaborate cross functionally. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as subject matter expert for digital content editing, maintaining brand and digital standards, consulting, teaching, and training global digital resources. 

  • Optimize the digital experience to support lead generation and digital conversion by leveraging analytics and performance measurement tools. 

  • Responsible for digital content authoring within CMS and eCommerce platforms, day-to-day management and operation of Mercury digital properties including product launches, online tools, campaigns, content updates and digital merchandising. 

  • Ideate and collaborate with creative teams, UI/UX, and digital performance teams to deliver a best-in-class, Mercury-branded experience for our customers, dealers, and retail partners. 

  • Design and implement SEO recommendations. Consistently recommend page optimization strategies. 

  • Assist in requirements gathering for digital projects. Represent Mercury as the digital brand marketing subject matter expert across enterprise and IT-led projects. 

  • Represent the digital team as part of an integrated marketing team, supporting product launches, promotional activations and driving both high and low-funnel digital conversions and lead capture strategies. 

  • Serve as a champion for digital quality defining and executing comprehensive quality assurance testing and post-production validation and monitoring of critical functionality.  

  • Collaborate cross-functionally and across the enterprise to deliver a user-focused result that supports business goals and delivers on customer expectations through competitive benchmarking and A/B testing. 

  • Establish content calendars, work with multiple departments to create, edit and share content on customer-facing websites. 

  • Communicate progress, facilitate identification of risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to increase probability of successful delivery. Manage digital enhancement backlog. 

  • Contribute to the evolution of digital marketing capabilities for Mercury Marine and Brunswick, utilizing inspiration, a spirit of collaboration, and subject matter expertise to drive shared success. 

 

Required Skills: 

  • Creative, decisive, responsive, able to work independently and take responsibility for decisions and outcomes. Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. 

  • Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions. Is curious and looks beyond the obvious to find answers. 

  • Experience with content management systems, the Adobe stack, website optimization tools and methods, digital analytics. 

  • Champions innovative approaches, researches and explores industry trends. 

  • Experience in collaborating with external resources (agencies, freelancers, consultants, developers). 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, marketing, communications, IT, or related field. 

  • 4+ years of professional experience.
