The job in a nutshell

During this internship you will be assisting us in setting up our progress report on engagement initiatives supporting our net zero commitments and the adverse impacts our investment may have on society or the environment. In addition, you will support engagement efforts with our investee companies who may not live up in full to our responsible investment standards. This gives you the opportunity to learn how Environment/Social/Governance (ESG) is applied in practice and work on your research and reporting skills towards our global clients and regulators.

This would be your future internship because you:

  • Want to work for an international company aiming to influence companies to improve their sustainability performance.
  • Like to conduct research to prepare dialogues on Environment/Social/Governance (ESG) issues with companies.
  • Are good at analyzing and preparing text and data for our client reports.
  • Enjoy helping to analyze data (i.e. climate data or other sustainability disclosure).
  • Want to foster change at our investee companies to ensure compliance with our responsible investment standards.

What do you bring?

  • To qualify for internship, applicants must be currently enrolled full-time at a university pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree ideally focused on sustainability, social or environmental topics in The Netherlands. The internship takes place in our office in the Hague.
  • Available for 3 months starting in February for minimum of 3 days a week, 2 days in the office.
  • Interest in sustainability issues with focus on Environment / Climate.
  • Reporting and writing skills in English.
  • Self-starter and problem solver with attention to detail.

Who will be your new colleagues?

Seven RI specialists work in our office in The Hague. We are diverse, experienced and passionate about ESG. These specialists conduct sustainability and impact research, lead active ownership activities and advise on RI policies and reporting. We work jointly with RI specialists in other markets and support clients to comply with their RI policies. Supervised by our Senior RI Manager Heike Cosse this will be a great chance to develop your skills during your internship.

Important note NL:
It is required to be enrolled at a Dutch university to take part in this internship. Next to that you will need a Dutch BSN-number and Dutch bank account. If you are a non-EU/EER student, you will need a valid residence permit stating that you may work ('arbeid vrij toegestaan'). Applications that do not fulfill these criteria cannot be taken into consideration.
