Position Details:

  • 4 day - 10hr shifts, Monday - Thursday, 4:15pm – 3:00am (Must be available to work 1st shift for a few months to complete training)

What You Will Do:

  • Produce barrels through utilization of saws, straighteners, CNC equipment, hones, paint equipment, and inspection processes while following standard work methods to meet customer expectations in accordance with all quality and safety protocols.

  • Learn, adhere, and apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to provide and maintain a high-quality standard

  • Learn about and participate in accomplishing Harbison-Fischer’s strategy through participation in daily team meetings

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Program

  • Understand and operate all machines and equipment within the department

  • Cross-train on multiple pieces of equipment and processes to maximize capabilities and productivity

  • Rotate as needed among all necessary processes

  • Assist other team members to produce what is needed, when it is needed as determined by customer demand

  • Use hand-held measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures to inspect and measure parts for accuracy and conformance to product specifications

  • Perform repetitive motions throughout process

  • Stay on task to complete activities

  • Participate in continuous training in Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, and other principles of Operational Excellence

  • Lead or participate in PDCAs as assigned or identified

  • Work Overtime as needed

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent education and/or experience.

  • 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Good computer skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Commitment to work overtime as needed

  • Maintain appropriate levels of daily attendance, initiative and productivity

  • Read and follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete work according to proper product specifications

  • Read and understand product specifications, drawings, and prints

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite - Picks up on technical things quickly; can learn new skills and knowledge is good at learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge; does well in technical courses and seminars.

Physical Demands:  

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and standing or walking in the work area for most of the day is a requirement of the job.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel, and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with arms and hands as needed.

  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
