AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How you will create an impact

  • Evaluate risks, refer analysis for underwriter approval and quote with underwriter supervision to increase production on profitable lines of business.

  • Understanding of key business drivers to drive profitability by increasing policy retention and new business results.

  • Negotiate internally and externally the underwriting of accounts and analyze financial statements, applications, and other supporting documents. Request additional information to insurance brokers to analyze the risk if it was deemed relevant.

  • Determine the acceptability of the risk and appropriate premium for coverage offered in accordance with the established underwriting guidelines.

  • Strong communication, networking and relationship building skills to integrate with our key brokers and provide excellent service.

  • Provide support in the training of Brokers and Insureds about our products.

  • Contribute to operational efficiencies.

  • As a junior member of the team, you will be expected to learn our high standard of customer service to brokers and clients – being mentored by senior colleagues while building your broker network.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance or Accounting Preferred)

  • This position suits candidates with some exposure to underwriting concepts.

  • Proficient in Adobe and MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish including verbal, written and negotiation.

  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Analytical skills, organized, proactive and detail oriented is a must.
