About Grosse Pointe Hospital

Grosse Pointe Hospital is recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best hospitals in the nation. As a Magnet-designated facility, it delivers exceptional nursing care alongside advanced clinical services for patients.

The hospital is home to the James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge hybrid surgical unit equipped with advanced technology to support a wide range of complex procedures. It also features the Cotton Family Birth Center, providing comprehensive and compassionate care for growing families.

About this unit

2 South is a 38-bed inpatient unit offering both private and semi-private rooms. The unit provides high-quality nursing care for patients with pulmonary, hospice, oncology/hematology, and general medical diagnoses.

Our team is committed to a patient- and family-centered care model that recognizes the unique needs and preferences of each individual. Family involvement is encouraged as an important part of the healing and care experience.

All staff members complete hospital and nursing orientation, followed by a comprehensive unit-specific orientation. During this process, staff are required to demonstrate proficiency in unit-specific and core clinical competencies.

Because the unit cares for oncology and hematology patients, registered nurses follow established chemotherapy administration guidelines. Successful completion of a Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Administration course within one year of employment is required.
