The Customer & Partner Insights team sits within Zillow Research & Insights (ZRI), a multidisciplinary team of researchers that includes Insights Strategists, UX Researchers, Behavioral Scientists, and Population Scientists. We all play a significant role within the greater product and marketing organizations. ZRI sits within Zillow Experience Design (ZxD), a fast-paced, collaborative, and driven product design team. We’re a tight-knit, fun-loving, and upbeat group.

About the role

As a Senior Insights Strategist, you're responsible for driving research and product strategy to craft phenomenal B2C customer and B2B partner experiences. If you want to provide data-hungry teams with a view of our customers and partners via planning, executing, and sharing quantitative and qualitative research, then this job is for you! Responsibilities:

  • Define short-term and long-term research roadmaps aligned with customer problems and business priorities, identifying and prioritizing research needs throughout a cycle.

  • Collaborate with marketing (primarily), design, product, data science, and other teams.

  • Prioritize and coordinate related work, synthesizing data from all sources across ZRI to create a comprehensive view of the marketplace, customers, and business partners.

  • Advocate for customer and partner needs throughout the product design and development process, and ensure they align with business initiatives.

  • Effectively communicate findings and insights in a way that drives stakeholders’ decisions. 

  • Lead multiple projects independently, prioritize business objectives, and deliver high-quality work on time.

  • Contribute, learn, grow, and have fun.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $104,700.00 - $167,300.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • 6+ years as an Insights Manager, Insights Strategist, Market Researcher, or similar role.

  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research to understand customer needs and address business or marketing objectives. Higher emphasis on quantitative background. 

  • Excellent data and analytical skills. Ability to analyze data and translate into concrete. insights which can be easily understood and applied by the entire organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize results from multiple sources to build a richer, more complete perspective of the issue or opportunity, and related implications.

  • A great storyteller who finds powerful ways to communicate insights and develop empathy among our internal partners, engage senior leaders in research, and influence them to take action.

  • Experience working successfully with diverse, cross-functional product teams to guide strategic decisions.

  • Experience collaborating with other research/analytics disciplines (UX and behavioral science researchers, data scientists, population scientists, etc) especially for sophisticated/multi-modal studies.

  • PhD in relevant research or marketing field preferred.
