Responsibilities

The role and responsibilities of a Failure Analysis and New Product Qualification engineer include the following:

  • Support failure mode analysis (FMA) of laser diode module failures associated with solder creep, delamination/voids, and device performance degradation
  • Identify root cause for failures using analytical tools such as optical inspection, SEM, EDX, and X-ray
  • Performs analysis utilizing DOE and FMEA tools (e.g. Fishbone diagram for cause and effect analysis)
  • Coordinate laser diode module qualification tests with internal and external reliability labs
  • Generates failure analysis reports and engineering/qualification reports for new processes/products

Requirements

  • Applicants should be engineering major (materials or optical / electrical engineering preferred) pursuing a Master degree or above, with proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • They should possess strong analytic and statistic skills, and have the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent hands-on, communication and team work skills required.

Pay Range: $23.75 - 54.30/ hour USD
