Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Seed Handling Specialist based in Grimes, Iowa. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy solving complex problems, working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and applying cutting-edge technology to seed handling and fulfilment.

The Seed Handling Specialist is responsible for the management of seed request order fulfillment at the centralized research inventory warehouse. This role ensures compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and operational efficiency, while providing critical support to Research & Development (R&D) initiatives across the North America packaging network.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the primary site contact for seed request fulfillment, coordinating across Research and Logistics teams to ensure 100% order accuracy and adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Direct the bulk-to-packet seed splitting process, ensuring precise inventory weight or count accuracy.
  • Support the physical routing of materials between storage, processing, and shipping areas.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with domestic and international phytosanitary regulations, biotech stewardship requirements, and legal shipping mandates.
  • Coordinate the collection and submission of representative seed samples for phytosanitary testing, maintaining accurate labeling & documentation for lab analysis.
  • Perform inventory adjustments related to seed sampling, lot splitting, and seed movements utilizing WMS tools.
  • Perform duties in both office and warehouse settings, including manual material handling and seed processing alongside the team as operational needs dictate.
  • Maintain strong alignment and close collaboration with all site operations to respond quickly to changing demands and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate operational records, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare reports for stakeholders.
  • Monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, speed, and quality.
  • Plan and optimize the use of labor, infrastructure, and equipment to meet operational objectives.
  • Oversee a team of 2-4 staff members in daily activities, promoting adherence to procedures and best practices.
  • Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and required training.  

What You Need:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Agronomy, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or agricultural research (or 1+ years with a relevant degree). 
  • Physical & Environmental: Ability to work in a dual office and warehouse environment with varying temperatures, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to perform manual material handling alongside the team.
  • Core Competencies: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to remain detail-oriented in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
