SAP Developer (Analytics & Reporting)

What you will do

In this vital role you will be responsible for crafting, developing, and maintaining reporting solutions within the SAP ecosystem using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics. This role involves collaborating with business users to gather requirements, design analytics models, and implement dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making. The developer will ensure all reporting solutions adhere to standard methodologies for data governance, performance optimization, and user experience.

You will work with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics to create real-time, operational reports using CDS views and integrate them with SAP Analytics Cloud to deliver sophisticated, user-friendly reporting solutions. This position requires proficiency in data modeling, visualization, and query design, with a solid focus on SAP S/4HANA and the associated reporting frameworks.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop custom reports and dashboards using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), integrating data from SAP S/4HANA and other relevant systems.

• Leverage SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics by developing CDS views to create real-time operational reports and analytical content within the core SAP environment.

• Collaborate with business users to gather reporting and analytics requirements, translating them into technical specifications and developing effective reporting solutions.

• Ensure data accuracy and consistency by handling data extraction and integration processes, enabling seamless data flow between SAP S/4HANA and SAC.

• Optimize performance of reports and dashboards through query tuning and efficient use of system resources in SAP S/4HANA.

Apply data governance standard methodologies to ensure data security, compliance, and integrity across all reporting and analytics solutions.

• Maintain and support existing reports and dashboards, solving issues, and enhancing functionality as business needs evolve.

• Stay up to date with SAP’s latest analytics tools, such as Inquisitive Predict and machine learning capabilities in SAC and integrate them into reporting solutions where appropriate.

• Deliver training and support to end users, empowering them to fully apply SAP reporting tools for better decision-making and insight generation.

Must-Have Skills:

• Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations, ensuring they are user-friendly and meet business requirements.

• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, including the development of CDS views for real-time reporting and analytics.

• Proficiency in designing data models and integrating data between SAP S/4HANA and SAC, ensuring seamless data flow and accurate reporting.

• Expertise in query optimization and performance tuning within SAP S/4HANA and SAC to deliver efficient and responsive analytics solutions.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with predictive analytics and machine learning capabilities within SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for advanced reporting solutions.

• Knowledge of SAP Fiori elements for creating analytical reports directly within the SAP S/4HANA user interface.

• Experience with Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for SAP development, promoting collaboration and iterative delivery of analytics solutions.

• Knowledge of SAP Data Intelligence or other advanced SAP analytics tools for complex data integration and analysis.

Professional Certifications (please mention if the certification is preferred or required for the role):

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Analytics Cloud (preferred)

• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA for Embedded Analytics (preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 1 to 3 years of IT or related field experience OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 3 to 5 years of IT or related field experience OR

• Diploma in computer science or STEM majors and 7 to 9 years of IT or related field experience.

Soft Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to optimally collaborate with stakeholders and end users, ensuring reporting solutions align with business needs.

• High attention to detail in developing, testing, and maintaining reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with SAP analytics standards.

• Ability to adapt to evolving business requirements and SAP technologies, staying current with advancements in SAP S/4HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot reporting issues and optimize performance to enhance functionality and user experience.

• Collaborative mindset, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery and continuous improvement of SAP analytics and reporting solutions across the organization.
