About the Role
Reporting to a Regional Sales Director, Americas, the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) contributes to the success of the team as both an individual contributor and line manager. The role is a multi-faceted position with specific territory sales responsibilities (account management / new-business prospecting for designated accounts) and the management of salespeople.
The RSM is responsible for the development of a sales strategy and execution within their own discrete portfolio while coaching and managing named regional employees towards team attainment targets. A successful RSM will have strong sales acumen, leadership qualities, account planning, pipeline and forecast management skills
Responsibilities:
Team/line management
Account management / new-business prospecting in a defined territory
Drive revenue to achieve sales targets
Collaborative approach to working across the Dow Jones organization (e.g. product, specialists, marketing, commercial policy, legal)
Conduct regular team meetings, including pipeline reviews with salespeople.
Coach & support team members towards their goals.
Skills & Experience:
Leadership skills
Proven success in sales
Strong organizational and account planning skills.
Excellent communication skills, both oral & written with the ability to convey ideas succinctly to all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to build rapport, trust and empathy.
7+ years experience in a B2B sales environment
Knowledge of the business information and compliance industries is advantageous
Highly proficient using Google Workspace (g-suite), Salesforce and MS applications.
