The Opportunity

We have a rare opportunity to join Marley as our long-serving Production Manager prepares to retire.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and based at our 24/5 manufacturing facility in Manurewa, you'll lead production across Injection Moulding, Finishing, Crushing and Frames, driving safety, quality, operational performance and continuous improvement.
 

We're seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking leader who can engage a long-tenured workforce, build trust on the shop floor and successfully lead change. This is a genuine opportunity to make your mark, elevate standards and shape the future of manufacturing at Marley.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading a strong safety culture aligned with our Go for Zero commitment

  • Coaching and developing production teams to drive engagement, capability and performance

  • Improving OEE, productivity, waste reduction and operational efficiency

  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and embedding Lean manufacturing principles

  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards

  • Monitoring and improving key operational KPIs

  • Leading automation, process optimisation and future investment projects

  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives

  • Managing budgets and supporting commercially sound decision-making

About You

You are a proven Production Manager who combines strong operational leadership with a genuine passion for people. You enjoy being visible on the shop floor, building credibility with frontline teams and leading change through influence and engagement.
 

You will bring:

  • 5-10 years' experience in a Production Manager or equivalent manufacturing leadership role

  • Experience managing medium to large manufacturing operations within plastics, building products, FMCG, steel, heavy industrial or similar environments

  • A strong track record in safety, quality and operational performance improvement

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems

  • Experience improving OEE, productivity, waste reduction and manufacturing efficiency

  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience leading diverse teams in a multi-shift manufacturing environment

  • Strong commercial acumen and financial understanding

  • Trade, engineering or manufacturing qualifications will be highly regarded

  • Are agile, take ownership, curious and want to continue to develop and grow as our business grows
