Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotivesWe have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Large Power Systems team to support Caterpillar large engine production at our Kiel facility. 

 

What You Will Do: 

  • Support the establishment of a World-class, safety-driven Manufacturing facility by ensuring resourcing and talent needs are met, and by delivering an engaging work environment. 

  • Collaborate with senior management as a strategic advisor helping identify and prioritize Human Resources initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. 

  • Align HR policies and programs which promote employee engagement, retention, and performance. 

  • Act as a trusted coach providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters, including performance management, compensation, and benefits, etc. 

  • Lead on collaboration with the local works council ensuring regular dialogue to deliver positive employee relations and execution of any works council agreements. 

  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a story to provide data-driven recommendations to senior management. 
     

What You Have (Key Skills/Experience Required): 

  • Extensive experience in Human Resources consulting 

  • Strong background in Talent Management 

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking 

  • Business Acumen 

  • Influencing others and strategy 

  • Experience being part of leadership team and leading change 

  • Comprehensive expertise in works constitution, social security, and labor law, including the application of collective agreements—ideally within the metal and electrical industries 

  • Proven track record of collaborating with works councils and implementing company agreements 

  • Very good German (at least C1) and good English skills (at least B2) 

 

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills): 

  • Degree or apprenticeship in Human Resources Management or a related field. 

  • Demonstrated expertise in HR within a Manufacturing Operations Environment. 

  • Previous experience of establishing and maintaining positive employee relations & work culture.

Additional Information: 

We are back! This role requires being in the office five days a week. 

 

Note - Relocation is offered with this role.
