Your role:

As a Tactical Buyer you foremost provide procurement support to projects on global and local scale e.g. in the area of new product/equipment developments and plant-specific investment projects.

  • As part of the operational procurement team you are responsible to process and create purchase orders, track order confirmations, and deliveries beyond the project-specific purchase demands.
  • Procurement Management: Identify and source materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance and resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers to understand project timelines, specifications, and budget constraints. Ensure that procurement activities align with project schedules.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and stay updated on industry trends and pricing. Utilize this information to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Cost Control: Monitor project budgets and expenditures related to procurement. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier communications. Prepare reports on procurement status and project spending for management review.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance and material quality.
  • Process & Create Purchase Orders, Track order confirmations and deliveries

Your Profile

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a technical field with a strong business acumen is required. Alternatively, a commercial apprenticeship with several years of related professional experience.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software SAP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities (strong solution orientation)
  • Ability to assess technical tasks and requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally are required
  • English fluent / German min. B2, other languages are a plus
