PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Finance Team as the Director of Accounts Payable at the RHC Office.

ABOUT PATH
Since its foundation in 1984, PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.

ABOUT THE JOB
As part of the Finance Team, the Director of Accounts Payable oversees the processing and payment of all payables to clients (approx. $35M), vendors and credit card companies (approx. $30M), and employees (excluding payroll), and manages the financial systems that PATH relies on for payables management.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Guide the PATH accounts payable department to become a best-in-class function and exceed the requirements of both internal and external clients, in a complex and fast growth environment.
  • Manage a team of approximately 25 staff that (1) process client financial assistance, (2) process accounts payable, and (3) ensure payables data accuracy and fiscal compliance.
  • Provide leadership to PATH finance, program, and support departments on all payables matters.
  • Critically evaluate existing payables processing policies, systems, and procedures and implement creative solutions to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of PATH’s AP processing.
  • Enhance processes to optimize payment schedules and accurately allocate expenses to specific programs or grants.
  • Identify opportunities for increased automation and technology integration to streamline workflows and grant tracking.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accounts payable experience for a non-profit organization with a complex chart of accounts
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct accounting software

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, we require all candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field 
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in accounts payable, including two (2) years managing an accounts payable team.
  • An additional three (3) years in an accounting or finance position
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:

  • Have employment eligibility verification
  • Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
  • Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
    • Tuberculosis Test
    • Background Screening
    • Drug Test

DRIVING
Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must: 

  • Have reliable transportation
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
  • The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage

FLEXIBLE WORK
