The Learning & Development Consultant for Self Insurance will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of employees in self-insurance practices.

This role requires a deep understanding of self-insurance methodologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices in the industry. The consultant will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure that training aligns with organizational goals and employee development needs.

Key Responsibilities

Training Program Development:

  • Design and develop comprehensive training programs focused on self-insurance concepts, risk management, and compliance.

  • Create engaging learning materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and instructional guides.

Needs Assessment:

  • Conduct assessments to identify training needs and gaps in knowledge among employees.

  • Collaborate with department heads to align training initiatives with business objectives.

Delivery of Training:

  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars, both in-person and online.

  • Utilise various instructional methods to accommodate different learning styles, and strong understanding of the Adult Learning Principals.

Evaluation and Feedback:

  • Implement evaluation strategies to assess the effectiveness of training programs.

  • Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to continuously improve learning initiatives.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate self-insurance training into broader organisational development strategies.
  • Support leadership in developing a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Staying Current:

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in self-insurance and training methodologies.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance learning strategies.

Required skills, experience and qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organisational Development (Advantageous)

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (Desirable)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in learning and development or claims management, with a focus on self-insurance or financial services.

  • Proven track record in designing and delivering training programs.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of self-insurance principles and practices.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in instructional design and e-learning tools.

  • Ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights.
