Description

The Lead Director of Quality Engineering provides strategic and operational leadership for Quality Engineering (QE) and Business Analysis (BA) functions across Medicare Sales technology and platforms. This role ensures technology solutions align with business objectives and regulatory requirements while driving automation, AI integration, and continuous improvement. The Lead Director builds and mentors high-performing teams, champions best practices, and enables delivery of secure, high-quality solutions that support business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead QE and BA teams; foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Quality Engineering: Develop and execute QE strategies for cloud-native platforms; oversee automated and manual testing frameworks; ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Business Analysis: Lead requirements elicitation and capability definition; translate strategic goals into actionable technology outcomes; facilitate alignment across business, product, and engineering.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve team velocity, reduce defects, and enhance delivery quality; implement metrics and feedback loops.
  • Automation & AI: Lead adoption of automation tools and AI-powered solutions to optimize QE and BA processes.
  • Governance & Communication: Maintain roadmap and governance artifacts; provide concise updates to IT and business executives.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years in QE, business analysis, or technology strategy roles, including 5+ years in leadership.
  • Expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, and integration patterns.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical and business audiences.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and roadmap visualization tools.

Preferred:

  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, HIPAA).
  • Experience with multi-cloud strategies, CDPs, data lakes, and real-time analytics.
  • Background in sales operations or telesales systems.
  • Exposure to AI integration and marketing enablement platforms.
  • Certifications: CBAP, PMI-PBA, SAFe, CSPO/PSPO.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
