Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Hours per week: 38 hours
Position Grade: Administration Officer Level 6
Salary: $77,623.75 - $79,458.87 base salary per annum

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Health Information Service.

A vacancy exists for a highly motivated Clinical Coder with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team.

The Clinical Coder Level 6 administrative officer is responsible for accurate and detailed coding of diagnoses and procedures from patient records (paper and electronic) in a timely manner as required to assist in the completion of clinical coding deadlines.

The Clinical Coder Level 6 administrative officer is also responsible for participating in clinical coding quality audits, clinician meetings and other clinical coder related duties as directed by the Clinical Coding Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the patient’s right to privacy and confidentiality is always maintained.

  • To ensure admitted patient episodes are coded accurately

  • To ensure admitted patient episodes are coded in a timely manner

  • Previous clinical coding experience in a tertiary hospital environment.

  • Previous codefinder experience.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately in a fast paced environment

  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work appropriately

  • ABF knowledge
