Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Associate IT Project Manager, Information Technology (HYBRID AVAILABLE) [R0145070].
ROLE of the POSITION
The Associate IT Project Manager plays a key support role within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) at UNLV, primarily assisting in the management and coordination of IT projects throughout their lifecycle. Under the direction of the IT Project Manager, the Associate IT Project Manager helps ensure that the university’s IT projects are executed efficiently, within scope, on time, and within budget. This position provides essential operational and administrative support to the IT Project Manager, including the tracking of project progress, managing documentation, assisting with resource allocation, and maintaining the project portfolio management system. The Associate IT Project Manager helps facilitate the smooth execution of projects, ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are informed and that processes are followed in accordance with the university’s standards.
This position plays a crucial role in the ongoing improvement of project management processes, contributing to the overall success of IT initiatives at UNLV. By supporting larger strategic initiatives and providing hands-on project management support, the Associate IT Project Manager helps ensure that OIT’s operations remain aligned with both institutional goals and industry best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires an earned Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) along with a minimum of One (1) year of project management experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
Experience working in a higher education environment
At least one year of experience developing workflows, forms, dashboard in a project portfolio tool
At least one year of budget experience
A Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification
The incumbent must have specific skill and knowledge in the following areas:
KNOWLEDGE
Required
Experience managing projects from inception to completion
Demonstrated experience with completing project documentation, including schedules using software, requirements documentation, and financial tracking
Must maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive data, records, files, conversations, etc.
Knowledge of the project communication requirements of a large organization that values transparency
SKILLS
Required
Ability to develop project templates, dashboards, and reports in a Portfolio Project Management (PPM) system based on organizational requirements
Ability to apply appropriate project management processes based on the size, complexity, and risk of a project
Ability to track budget expenses and show ROI return on investment for projects over multiple years
Experience administering, troubleshooting, and documenting a project portfolio system
Experience managing teams of five or more people, composed of technical and non-technical resources, external vendors, and external stakeholders
Strong quantitative skills, excellent written, and verbal communication skills including the ability to synthesize large volumes of information to create narrative reports for senior management

Salary range for this role is $79,400 to $81,800. Unable to offer more than stated salary range.
