Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes Diagnostic Centers, Outpatient Surgery and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multi-specialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education.     

 

Cleveland Clinic’s Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, and we’re looking to add an Environmental Services Supervisor to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Supervisor role is crucial in supporting the mission and vision of Cleveland Clinic. By leading and managing a team effectively, a supervisor ensures that the organization's standards for patient care, safety, and operational efficiency are met. This role directly contributes to creating a positive and productive work environment, which aligns with the organization's commitment to excellence in healthcare. 

 

A caregiver in this position works Monday – Friday from 7:00AM – 3:30PM, including every other weekend and rotating holidays. 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Supervise the technical and administrative functions of the Environmental Services department.  

  • Act as a technical resource for team members.  

  • Implement goals consistent with assigned clinical and non-clinical units.  

  • Provide effective utilization of personnel, policies and procedures in order to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment. 

  • Supervise caregivers in daily operations and evaluate performance. 

  • Continuously inspect assigned areas to ensure high quality of cleaning and maintenance is being performed. 

  • Maintain staffing levels. 

  • Approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests. 

  • Ensure cross coverage. 

  • Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training. 

  • Improve procedures and processes. 

  • Analyze workflow and procedures.  

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma or GED  

  • Two years of experience as a work leader, team lead or project manager OR one year of supervisory experience in a related field OR a Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Previous environmental services or housekeeping experience  

  • Bilingual in Spanish or Creole 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

  • Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
