A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialist is responsible for promoting and selling Tandem Diabetes products and clinical services within the assigned territory.What Your Day Will Look Like
Cover your assigned territory to meet or exceed sales goals established by Sales Management.
Develop and execute strategies to address clinical concerns and retain existing relationships for Tandem Diabetes products and services.
Serve as a clinical and educational leader in your territory, with a strong focus on Type 1 diabetes management and insulin pump therapy.
Identify new business opportunities, build strong HCP relationships, and position Tandem as a trusted resource in the diabetes community.
Use available tools and resources efficiently to identify sales leads and validate prospective criteria.
Create value for providers by differentiating Tandem’s technology and services—especially versus legacy pump systems.
Promote Tandem’s market position, clinical advantages, and integrated approach to providers and prospects.
Schedule, deliver, and coordinate product training for patients, customers, and health care professionals (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, Endocrinologists).
Complete all product training, documentation, and HCP communication accurately and on time per company policy.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with HCPs to support sales objectives.
Manage the initial and ongoing recertification of contracted and non-contracted Tandem Pump Trainers.
Conduct educational sessions for patients to support diabetes education, insulin pump therapy, and advanced diabetes management skills.
Seek guidance from the Clinical Manager on technical and training-related matters.
Collaborate with internal teams to address post-sale product issues and identify additional patient education needs.
Provide product and service information directly to consumers through health fairs, conventions, and promotional events.
Attend all corporate sales training, sales meetings, conventions, trade shows, and symposia.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM system for all territory-related activities.
Work closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, and Customer Support to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and privacy requirements.
Communicating clearly and earning trust with both HCPs and patients.
Demonstrating proficiency in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes self-management, including insulin pumps, AID systems, CGMs, infusion sets, carb counting, and emergency protocols.
Working independently and driving strategic results in a fast-paced and evolving market environment.
Presenting confidently and influencing clinical stakeholders and KOLs.
Navigating sales cycles and using CRM tools and digital collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
Staying organized and consistently going above and beyond to support patients and providers.
Traveling up to 80% within the territory while maintaining a valid driver’s license and insurance per company policy.
Traveling to the U.S. or Switzerland for training and internal meetings as needed.
Communicating fluently in Dutch and English.
Experience as a medical device consultant or pharmaceutical sales representative.
A background in nursing, dietetics, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant job experience.
Prior diabetes care experience (strong advantage).
Ongoing education in diabetes technology, pump therapy considerations, and patient instruction.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical device sales, diabetes care, endocrinology, or a related clinical field.
Experience working with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and managing complex HCP relationships.
Direct experience with or in-depth knowledge of individuals living with Type 1 diabetes.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively as a clinical expert to both patients and HCPs.

Remote: This role is fully remote with travel across the regions.
