Job Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for safely loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the district, service center, yard, or work site. Additionally, the material handler will have responsibility for conducting inventory transactions in Syteline (ERP System).

Shift Hours: Typical shift pattern is Monday through Friday 4:00pm-12:30am. Please note overtime is available as business demands.

Starting Pay: $20.20 base pay with $1.00 shift differential per hour during first 40 hours worked and $1.50 shift differential per hour during overtime worked. Base pay can be adjusted with experience.

What you will do:

  • At SPM Oil & Gas, our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer service 
  • Unload, stock and inventory all deliveries 
  • Assist with new orders and cycle counts
  • Read and understand standard work and risk assessments 
  • Ability to understand Inventory Control Process 
  • Exhibits equipment and product understanding 
  • Counts, weighs, secures, tags, palettize and stacks materials and maintains accurate records of material movement 
  • Assist service operations with pulling and picking parts
  • Performs other job duties as assigned 

What you will have: 

  • Minimum of three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Ability to proficiently operate a computer independently
  • Prior experience operating a forklift
  • Ability to use identification tools (engraver, metal stamps, paint pen) to mark product 

Top Candidates will have:

  • Experience operating an ERP system such as Syteline
  • Basic understanding of the oil and gas industry including ability to identify parts related to hydraulic fracking operations
  • Prior experience operating a forklift

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration
  • Noise Level: Moderate
