JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Indirect Tax Accountant is responsible for preparation and review of indirect tax compliance, audit support, and financial reporting for U.S. tax obligations as assigned. Support maintenance of indirect tax engines ensuring accurate collection, computation and reporting of non-income tax obligations. You will be the primary source to provide answers to sales and use tax, property tax and business license related questions which may require research through online sources or consultants. Working with an integrated ERP system and due to the complexity of the business, this position will provide opportunities to regularly collaborate with others to help formulate, develop, and implement improvements to our processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation and review of indirect tax compliance including Sales and Use Tax, Personal Property Tax, Business Licenses. Ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of filings, as well as maintenance of all necessary supporting documentation and tax calendar.
Preparation of use tax self-assessment for various company expenditures. This includes review of relevant regulations and calculations and accounting for tax. Ensuring completeness and maintenance of the necessary supporting documentation.
Maintenance of indirect tax engines ensuring completeness and accuracy if collection, computation and reporting of indirect tax obligations.
Assist management in compiling audit support to be provided to State and Local jurisdictions. Respond to notices and inquiries from taxing authorities for routine sales tax matters.
Conduct research of U.S. indirect (sales/use, personal property tax, real property tax, business licenses) tax regulations with respect to the impact on the business.
Provide technical advice and support to business partners with respect to indirect tax inquiries.
Preparation and support of account reconciliation.
Project work related to compliance, tax accounting and planning, as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
B.S. degree in accounting required
A minimum of three to five years of indirect tax experience preferred
Ambitious self- starter with good communication skills
Strong computer data mining and organizational skills
Ability to effectively prioritize your time and meet deadlines
WORKING CONDITIONS
Role will be considered for hybrid in person office environment or remote
Fast-paced office environment with minimal supervision
The salary range for Minnesota is $84,000 to $111,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
