Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Flight Efficiency Solutions team is currently looking for an Aerodynamics Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA. This organization is a part of Boeing’s Digital Aviation Solutions, creating capabilities that enable pilots to fly our airplanes safely and efficiently.  You will work directly with airline customers, deploying our application, supporting performance queries and troubleshooting problems. 

We are looking for an aerodynamics engineer with experience in airplane performance and flight operations.  C++ software development and/or test experience is preferred on both MacOS and Windows; FORTRAN and SQL skills are a plus.  Experience with agile software development, CI/CD environments, and cloud hosting of applications is desirable. 

The preferred candidate will have experience working with customers on implementation and support of flight operations and pilot-facing applications, assisting them in defining takeoff and landing performance configurations, policies and databases.  The candidate will also have experience defining and developing applications for administrators and end users in airline operations, including flight operations and flight crew.

Job responsibilities:

  • Maintain customer relations with airline customers, create and package supporting performance data  
  • Assist in development, testing and delivery of OPT the application and configuration tools

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (or foreign equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience working with airline customers
  • 1+ years of experience with airplane performance, including takeoff, landing, weight & balance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience using and deploying applications to airline pilots
  • Flight Operations experience, working directly with airlines
  • Experience working with airline customers in a managed service offering
  • Ability to perform in a mission-critical role for our airline customers

Typical Education & Experience: 

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 5):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location site, Seattle, WA..

Summary pay range (Mid-Level - Level 3): $100,300 - $135,700

Summary pay range (Lead - Level 4): $121,550 - $164,450

Summary pay range (Senior - Level 5): $147,900 - $200,100
