Veterinary Technician

North Houston Veterinary Ophthalmology

We are looking for:

  • An individual who can communicate tactfully and effectively in stressful or emergent situations

Requirements:

  • Must be well-spoken

  • A high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to stand, stoop, or bend for long periods of time

  • Must maintain a professional appearance

  • Must be able to clearly communicate with clients, doctors, and staff

  • Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions

  • Must maintain a positive and professional attitude

  • Must be able to perform venipuncture

  • Must be familiar with specimen collecting for lab submission

  • Must be able to handle and restrain animals

  • Must have experience in anesthetic induction, maintenance, and monitoring

  • Must have at least 2 years veterinary technician experience

  • Must be able to place I.V. catheters efficiently

  • Must be familiar with veterinary terminology and anatomy

  • Must be able to carry up to 40lbs unassisted

  • Must be able to maintain accurate medical records, both written and electronically

Background and reference checks will be done on all candidates.

We are a drug-free work environment.

Salary is competitive for the region and is based on experience and the ability to meet the requirements listed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Based on veterinary experience

Schedule:

  • 9-hour shift

  • 4 days of the week

  • No weekends
