FS Investments (FS) is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to support its Portfolio Advisors (PA) business. The successful candidate will be responsible for “hands-on", day-to-day HR support for PA as well as facilitating execution of the ongoing integration between FS and PA. The role is based in Darien, CT, and requires occasional travel to New York and Philadelphia.

Responsibilities:

Drive and implement human resources policies, programs and practices that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness and that align with business objectives in the following areas:

 Post-merger HR Integration:

  • Lead HR alignment and integration efforts for Portfolio Advisors.
  • Support harmonization and transition of benefits, talent management processes and employee policies.
  • Serve as an advocate and champion for organizational culture evolution and harmonization between legacy Portfolio Advisors and FS Investments firms.

Talent Management:

  • Lead recruiting efforts for the assigned business groups.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and evaluate talent.
  • Counsel managers and staff on development opportunities and advancement, as well as organizational development, training, and programs to support firm initiatives.
  • Facilitate leadership development and key talent retention efforts, collaborating with the management team to develop processes that engage and inspire employees at all levels.
  • Work with managers to effectively diagnose organizational issues and partner to solve them.
  • Provide developmental coaching to colleagues as required.
  • Manage organizational design/re-design projects and facilitate related change management.

Employee Relations:

  • Provide advice and consultation to managers and employees regarding employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, policy interpretation and compliance, and compliance with local, state, and federal employment and labor laws.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, performance interventions, job design, employee relations) to optimize employee performance.
  • Manage employee relations issues in consultation with the CHRO and in-house counsel.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and policies related to management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively stay informed about all applicable laws and regulations and how they will impact the firm’s current employment policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Business Administration, HR, or Industrial Psychology is a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of HR Business Partner or HR Generalist experience, ideally in the financial services industry.
  • Deep HR competence and demonstrated ability to influence and partner with managers on execution of a various HR processes such as organizational change management, talent acquisition and development, learning and development, and employee relations.
  • Proven track record in driving change to help execute on firm-wide and key business initiatives.
