Position summary:
The responsibility of the Yarn Inventory Specialist is to assist in the creation of inventory and the processing of departmental orders while ensuring first quality, meeting production requirements, and quality objectives in the Yarn Prep Department. Ensure the accuracy of all inventory created at there work site. Ensure accuracy of weight and verifying correct color identification. ensure completed orders are sent timely and correctly to the next stage for processing. Maintain a safe and clean work area. Must be able to perform and understand all yarn prep processes, understand yarn creel arrangements, and have the ability to operate each of the Yarn Inventory Specialist work stations. Fully understand and be able to perform the Yarn Prep Operator and Yarn Prep Reclaim Operator duties. In the event of an emergency or vacation, it will be the Yarn Inventory Specialist responsibility to perform these duties at more than one station.
Educational requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Skills and experience:
Intermediate math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and percentages preferred.
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Strong Self Discipline
Self-motivated.
Computer skills
Must have normal color vision or average to above average shade discernment
Previous exp in a manufacturing environment
Experience in a senior / team lead position or experience working independently
Essential duties:
Process the Backwind orders in the AS/400
Verify the color of yarn that is in the box before processing..(this pertains to the Yarn Inventory Specialist at the repack desk in Reclaim)
Go through the packs to see if they are ready for the next process
Place direct load packets on the Tufting wall
Take completed orders from Backing to the Hanging area
Ensure correct bar code labels are placed on the processed orders
Ensure all repacked is reported correctly and all paper work is turned in timely
Ensure every effort is made to consolidate small boxes within the Warehouse.
Ensure that information is entered into the AS400 system on the orders being boxed or creeled.
Ensure that all possible efforts for recycling are pursued. Minimize waste.
Constantly look for ways to improve consistent, quality production.
Close out runs from Tufting.
Attend all Yarn Warehouse meetings.
Follow all other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Manager.
Maintain housekeeping
Comply with safety rules
Comply with environmental regulations
Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
Understand and support Interface's commitment to sustainability.
Perform other duties as assigned
