Northrop Grumman looking for a HVAC Boiler Mechanic Level 4 to work at its Elkton, Maryland facility. 

Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Job Summary:

The HVAC Boiler Mechanic 4 operates and maintains stationary boilers to provide heat, buildings and industrial processes. The selected candidate will inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance measures and routine operational adjustments such as lubricating and cleaning filters, motors, and other equipment. Must be available for occasional off hours work for emergency repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Adjusts, operates, repairs as needed, and maintains domestic and industrial boilers and burner units as well as heat exchange equipment and associated piping

  • Adjusts, operates, and performs maintenance on draft blowers, pumps, water softeners, boiler chemical pumps and related boiler room equipment

  • Monitors boiler or other heating equipment operations

  • Maintains proper records per state and federal requirements: schedules and oversees pressure vessel inspections from outside agencies.

  • Schedules and oversees repairs of boilers from contractors when necessary

  • Performs annual cleaning on boilers and feed systems

  • Must be familiar with current boiler codes/requirements

Basic Qualifications Level 4:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years related industrial Boiler maintenance experience, HVAC technology degree / certificate or military related experience

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Ability to work independently

  • Maintain accurate records and logs

  • Ability to perform other maintenance duties periodically

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Stationary Engineers License

  • HVAC Certifications

  • Electrical control experience

  • Completion of a formal HVAC training program

Salary Range: $77,800.00 - $129,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
