We are passionate about driving impactful, data-driven strategies that elevate user experience and boost eBay’s visibility in search results.

As a Technical SEO Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping the future of eBay’s search visibility. Working closely with engineers, content creators, and product teams, you'll drive technical SEO improvements, including site speed optimization, mobile-first indexing, schema implementation and large scale crawl efficiency measures. Your work will have a direct impact on eBay’s organic search performance, contributing to increased traffic, enhanced user engagement, and overall platform growth. What you will accomplish:

  • Lead SEO technical audits to identify and address issues impacting eBay’s search visibility and performance.

  • Drive technical SEO improvements, such as site speed optimization, mobile-first usability, and structured data implementation, to enhance user experience and organic search rankings.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, content creators, and product teams to prioritize and implement SEO-driven solutions which align to the SEO strategic roadmap.

  • Develop, test, and refine strategies for optimizing eBay’s crawl budget and enhancing indexing efficiency for billions of product listings.

  • Analyze and interpret large datasets to inform SEO strategy, communicating insights that guide future optimization efforts and contribute to key business metrics.

  • Develop a culture of SEO excellence by sharing knowledge, conducting training, and staying at the forefront of SEO trends and search engine algorithm changes.

What you will bring:

  • Strong expertise in technical SEO (5+ years of technical SEO experience), with a deep understanding of search engine algorithms, crawling, indexing, and ranking factors.

  • Experience with SEO audit tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Lumar/Deepcrawl, SEMrush, Sistrix, SimilarWeb, AWR), and data analysis platforms (e.g., Google BigQuery, Looker Studio, Tableau ).

  • Consistent track record of optimizing large, complex global websites for search, with hands-on experience in site speed optimization, crawl management, schema markup, international targeting, and mobile optimization.

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and translate technical concepts into actionable strategies.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of SEO trends, standard methodologies, and emerging technologies, with the ability to apply them in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Comfort with a hybrid work model (office and remote) and flexibility to participate in distributed team initiatives.
