Job Description Summary

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Coordinator for Junior Player Development oversees the planning and implementation of all junior golf programming, projects, and activities designed to increase participation and generate additional revenues at the facility. The incumbent will represent the facility in its relationships, both internally and externally. This position monitors and participates in the overall customer service plans and training of the facility staff.

* Experience with POS software systems.
* Experience with junior golf development.
* Supervisory experience.
* Knowledge of GHIN handicap system.
* Knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
* Experience with Golf Genesis tournament management.
* Experience at an upscale university or public golf course.
* Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
* Service and customer focused attitude.

PHSYICAL DEMANDS
* Work is performed in an office environment and golf course. This position requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and demonstrate golf fundamentals on-site to program participants.
* Ability to travel around the golf course and campus for meetings and to attend to duties.
* Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs for weight and fitness related training and equipment adjustments, sport specialty equipment and event equipment setups and for on-site event management related purposes.
* Some weekends and evening work will be required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
* Possess (or ability to obtain within the first three (3) months) and maintain current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of experience working at a golf course or with golf programs. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of policies and protocols related to managing a golf facility. Knowledge of PGA Junior League, First Tee, or junior golf programs. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.
