JR49458 Director , Firmware

As a Director for the Managed NAND Engineering group at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of firmware of Managed NAND products. You will lead a multi-site India firmware team- HYD and BLR, to meet scheduled deadlines in a dynamic, multiple project-based environment. You will also provide your team with the vital tools and technical knowledge to allow them to work efficiently using the firmware development processes, tools, and development techniques required in a multi-product, platform codebase and validate product for quality deliverables. This position includes responsibility for the management of your team through performance development and creating an environment of continuous improvement. As part of this role, you may be required to act as a Firmware Director, leading and supervising the development of firmware, product and system platform portion of a product (or project) performance and sustenance of products.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the development and sustenance of managed NAND products. These strategies will require Define development and validation methodologies, plans, team organization, infrastructure, and quality. Lead architecture, design, development and deployment of innovative firmware that deliver competitive advantage and scale our business growth. Work with cross functional teams(PDT/SA/VALIDATION/QUALIFICATION/SI/MANUFACTURING/MAG/NAND/ASIC/FAE etc) to develop Manage the performance and development of team members.

•Flexibility and the ability to prioritize issues and projects working across global site stakeholders

•Identify strengths and craft individual development plans according to evaluated need

•Prioritize to meet timelines and deliverables within the group

•Establish goals and conduct performance appraisals; inspire change and growth

•Mentor and provide career development

•Ensure that deadlines and milestones dates are met

•Identify headcount needs and make hiring decisions

•Guide Validation engineers in their professional technical development

•Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and tool support

 Successful candidates will have the following:

•Understanding of state-of-the-art Managed NAND Development and test processes;  Deep understanding of Managed NAND/SSD product features across various domains such as Front-End, FTL and NAND Media. Ability to build positive relationships and strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to craft a comprehensive project plan, track it, and deliver to the plan

Experience:

Required Experience:

•Total Experience of 15+ Years in which Minimum 8 years Storage, NAND or eMMC/UFS or SSD development experience including leading project teams of at least 20 people

•Involvement bringing one or more products to market through volume manufacturing and maintenance. Background working across teams, other disciplines, and departments

•Firmware Management experience.  Experience with SSD, eMMC and UFS development, FW development and NAND understanding strongly preferred- Strong coding experience in C/C++, python, scripting language. Experience defining detailed product requirements.

 Qualifications : Minimum a B.E/B .Tech or equivalent required
