As a Freight Management Trainee, you will train across various roles within the operation, with a primary focus on driver management and customer support. This position prepares you to cover absences and equips you with the skills required to become a Driver Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate daily with your team of drivers to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Ensure on-time delivery of all freight shipments.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve company-wide goals and initiatives.
- Develop strong relationships with drivers, serving as their main point of contact for any road-related issues and supporting their professional growth within the organization.
- Communicate safety expectations to drivers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Monitor and track freight shipments to confirm timely deliveries.
- Assist leadership with special projects as needed.
- Take on additional responsibilities and tasks as they arise.
- Uphold and exemplify the company’s Core Values.
- Escalate critical issues to leadership in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree preferred but not required.
- Relevant experience in sales or management within the transportation industry.
- Demonstrated track record of achievement and success, with the ability to lead by example.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges.
- Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
