As a member of our Credits, Incentives and Methods – Energy and Excise team, you will advise clients who are developing innovative clean energy projects and advise them on implementation of the provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. You will also work on excise tax technical issues and controversy matters.

Tax Senior Associate needed in RSM's growing Washington National Tax office. The position could be upgraded to Supervisor depending on the candidate’s experience level. The Washington National Tax office consults with the broad spectrum of RSM's tax clients on a full range of tax technical areas. We are currently seeking candidates who have subject matter expertise in Credits, Incentives and Methods to join our growing credits, incentives and methods team. Strong legal research and writing skills are a must. Experience and expertise in energy and excise taxes and green energy credits highly desirable. Experience in tax controversy is a plus.

Responsibilities

Tax Senior Associate in our Washington National Tax practice have the following responsibilities with respect to their specific areas of subject matter expertise:

  • Research, address, and consult on technical issues specific to energy and excise taxes and green energy credits

  • Prepare written communications to the IRS

  • Generate thought leadership alerts articles and other content

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments

  • Develop and deliver internal knowledge sharing, including training

  • Develop client service offerings and tools

  • Ensure a focus on tax quality and client service excellence


Basic Qualifications

  • Strong legal research and writing skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • CPA or JD

  • 1-4 years of experience in Tax

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with federal tax credits, especially energy and excise taxes and green energy credits

  • Masters in Taxation or LLM

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $72,600 - $137,500

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
