Job Description:

Vendor Management Inventory Planner (VMIP)

Huntsman is seeking a Vendor Management Inventory Planner (VMIP) supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Costa Rica. This position will report to the Sr Manager Supply Chain.

Job Scope

The Vendor Management Inventory Planner (VMIP) plays a critical role in facilitating Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) processes for key customers and managing CoManufacturing activities with competitors partnering with Huntsman Polyurethanes (HPU).

This position is responsible for overseeing order management, logistics coordination, customer communication, and ensuring accuracy in inventory forecasting and order processing systems, while supporting cross-functional collaboration across commercial, supply chain, and operational teams.

In summary, as the Vendor Management Inventory Planner (VMIP), you will:

Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)

  • Receive, plan, and enter customer orders into the Huntsman SAP system or web portal.
  • Coordinate bulk and packaged shipments with logistics coordinators, production facilities, warehouses, and carriers.
  • Maintain accurate customer databases and SAP Master Data records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues involving appropriate internal teams.
  • Ensure timely invoicing of customer consumptions and manage return goods authorizations.
  • Track and manage railcars to ensure timely release from junctions and customer sites.
  • Act as liaison between customers, Commercial, S&OP, Logistics, Finance, and Quality Assurance teams.

CoManufacturing (Coman)

  • Manage purchase, sale, and swap processes with HPU competitors, ensuring accurate order entry and pricing updates in SAP.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Purchasing on pricing negotiation and order execution.
  • Coordinate with customers on forecasts and manage deals for reporting and finance purposes.
  • Complete credit reconciliations and maintain accuracy in Customer Pricing Database (CPD).

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as backup support within the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) group.
  • Lead or participate in projects related to HSE, S&OP, Logistics, Quality, or Commercial initiatives.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.

All candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that there may be occasions where additional office days are required, due specific business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in supply chain, planning, or related roles.
  • Experience working with systems and data tools such as SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced data tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience working with vendor-managed inventory or CoManufacturing processes.

  • Fast-paced, cross-functional environment with interaction across Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Frequent interaction with external stakeholders, including customers, carriers, and partners.
  • Requires strong coordination and communication across multiple systems and business processes.
  • Requires adherence to Huntsman policies, procedures, and EHS standards.
