Position Overview 

The Director of RCM serves in the role as strategist and innovator for the RCM team. The Director is focused on results, maximizing performance, eliminating counterproductive processes, and leveraging technology, AI, and automation to achieve consistent, reliable results. The Director is responsible for all software implementation and QAT testing.

The Director prioritizes thinking over doing.

The Director uses internal data, payer policies, industry trends, and other sources to maximize current revenue and seek out new revenue opportunities. They are bold, willing to trial new initiatives, fail quickly, and adapt. They act as the strategist, focusing on the next 6-9 months.

The Director must be willing to question the status quo and sacred cows within the organization. They must be focused on how to make something happen vs. all the reasons why it will fail.  They must be willing to release a V1 and not always wait for perfection. They push themselves and the team to be better; to be stronger.  They must be able to focus both on adaptability and innovation; today and one year from now.

A sense of urgency, continuous improvement, and innovation is required to be successful in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years even years healthcare RCM experience, preferably in an anesthesia, surgery, or DME setting.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Strong project management, problem solving, and communication skills. Sets priorities, meets deadlines, and promotes co-accountability within the team to do the same.
  • Experience and/or aptitude for building close working relationships with clinical, administrative, and senior leadership teams. Ability to collaborate, coordinate, and troubleshoot with key stakeholders.
  • History of meeting key performance metrics for profitability and operational efficiency.
  • History of bringing innovative ideas and processes to teams to drive stronger results.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and RCM billing systems.
