Department Overview:

The US Subpoena team processes a high volume of subpoenas and court orders.  The team is required to accurately respond to subpoenas and court orders, adhere to and meet court-imposed deadlines and comply with all legal and regulatory obligations related to subpoenas and court orders.  The US Subpoena Team responds to and resolves a significant number of questions and issues related to subpoenas and regularly communicates and corresponds with federal and state law enforcement, courts and attorneys with regard to subpoena requests.  The team assists with the preparation of witnesses to testify at trials, depositions and hearings and coordinates with prosecutors, law enforcement and attorneys regarding same.  The US Subpoena Team also identifies, prioritizes and escalates sensitive subpoena matters that pose potential risk/exposure.  The team works closely with several groups within the Bank to identify and collect materials responsive to subpoena requests.  Members of the US Subpoena Team have knowledge of various banking products and services, are proficient in Microsoft Office and OneDrive, and have the ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively.       

Job Summary:

The Subpoena Compliance Investigator is responsible for researching, pulling and producing video as well as providing support and administrative functions to the Subpoena team as requested by attorneys and professional staff.  The Subpoena Compliance Investigator may handle more complex administrative issues by preparing reports, collecting and analyzing data and supporting specialized projects.  This job is routinely entrusted with highly confidential information and interfaces with customer information and staff on a daily basis each to be treated in a timely and confidential manner.

Depth & Scope:

  • Researches, pulls and produces video on behalf of Subpoena team
  • Researches and organizes data for internal investigations and/or Subpoena Compliance
  • Researches specific branch data and activity in bank systems
  • Handles high volume of emails and requests in a timely manner
  • Assumes responsibility for special projects or reporting as assigned by Supervisors
  • May prepare and/or composes correspondence in support of Subpoena Compliance
  • Interacts with in-house counsel and/or outside counsel with regard to challenging Subpoenas or Production Orders
  • May keep track of service at store locations involving equipment
  • Assists with case investigations involving low to zero dollar loss, and conduct minor investigations when necessary
  • Creates and updates departmental logs as required by Supervisor

Education & Experience:

  • Associates Degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Professional demeanor/image and ability to interact with all levels of bank employees
  • Reliable, flexible and possesses good judgment, confidentiality and initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi‐task
  • Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
