Job Description

Based in the US, this role is responsible for ensuring the end-to-end technology service for Columbia Threadneedle Investments is delivered to the expected standards and quality. With a primary focus on the portfolio management and trading operations, you will need an understanding and experience of this business area and the technologies that support it, especially the Aladdin platform. This role is one of three leadership roles reporting into the Global Head of IT Production Operations.

Remit of Role:

Own technology aspects of delivering portfolio management and trading by:

1. Owning delivery of agreed service levels with the business

2. Vendor relationship management, primarily BlackRock for the Aladdin platform

3. Ensure supply of internal infrastructure platforms

4. Deliver against technology controls and risks

6. Deliver targets for automation and continuous improvements

7. Build strong relationship with business leaders in region

8. Meet operational budget forecast for area of responsibility

Deliver Remit by:

a. Leading a team of employees, consultants and vendors based in our IT center in US and India. Additionally, matrix manages staff in the UK to deliver the overall service globally

b. Collaborate with leaders in technology and the business to maintain SLAs and improve the services.

c. Understand and promote risk awareness and controls for the production environment ensuring we are compliant with both internal and external audit requirements.

d. Use strong oral and written communication skills to develop effective working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Key Capabilities:

a. Understanding of portfolio management using BlackRock's Aladdin platform

b. Understanding of core processes used in asset management

b. Background in more than one area of the technology delivery (for example production operations, development, project management, business analysis or managing infrastructure)

c. Managing multi-location teams

d. Managing staff using ITIL V3/V4 processes in a large organisation

d. Strong problem solving skills i.e. the ability to develop innovative solutions to technical problems

e. Ability to communicate at technical and non-technical levels

Preferred:

a. Minimum of five years experience of working in a senior leadership role in IT

b. Experience establishing goals, metrics and creating a continuous improvement culture

c. Proven track record in stakeholder management

d. Excellent oral and written communication skills - ability to motivate, influence both the business and technical communities

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $148,000 - $190,000 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
