Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Warehouse Keeper to work on our Honolulu Rail Project.  As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome.  The position is based in Pearl City, HI.


Accountabilities:

  • Handle and manage the O&M Organization's entire warehousing and material distribution functions, including the main storeroom, satellite storerooms
  • Handle physical distribution of material, tools and equipment throughout the Metro system
  • Receive and inspect of incoming and outgoing material, tools and equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and control of inventory assets throughout an MMIS (Maintenance Management and Information System)
  • Follow implemented procedures to ensure on-time delivery of material based on such factors as systemwide usage, individual storeroom usage, distribution channels, distribution resources and storage requirements.
  • Maintains receipt inspection procedures to ensure incoming material meets specification requirements.
  • Coordinate discrepancies with suppliers to ensure maximum benefit and parts availability to the O&M Organization.
  • Prepares requisitions for stock replacement.
  • Prepares requisitions for repair parts.
  • Prepares requisitions for tool calibration.
  • Handle supplies, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more
  • Conducts physical inventory of supplies, materials, tools and equipment
  • Comply with all maintenance procedures and instructions including;  safety, quality, and environmental procedures
  • Perform duties as instructed/directed by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager
  • The role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects, and operating transit systems
  • Perform additional cross functional job duties as required
  • Enhances and maintains positive working relationships with internal customers to maximize operational support, credibility and responsiveness.

 

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 1 year warehouse or store operations

Pay for this position is $26.91 an hour.
