POSITION:                   Utility Worker - Housekeeping

DEPARTMENT:            Operations
REPORTS TO:              Housekeeping Manager
FLSA STATUS:             Part-Time, Non-Exempt

SALARY:                      $16.50 Hourly

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Utility Worker – Housekeeping Team Member at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center.  Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Utility Worker’s primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, vendors, participants, and colleagues.
  • Work with a team of housekeepers on each shift and consult with the lead team for assigned tasks, events, etc.
  • Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed which includes restrooms, offices, seating areas, lobbies, and outside of venues.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of back of house areas, garages, workstations/work areas
  • Perform various duties to ensure the day-to-day operations for the facility are met.  This includes, but is not limited to, trash removal, restocking and spill cleanup.
  • Conduct general machinery cleaning, washing, mopping and spot cleaning.
  • Maintain supply rooms and equipment in an orderly fashion and use equipment and supplies as instructed.
  • Completes tasks in a timely manner with a high regard to quality that is consistent with the needs of Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center
  • Keep Supervisor and Manager informed of the status of work orders. 
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and sanitary work environment.  Notify management of any safety or hazards concerns.
  • Work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum years of related work experience:  2 years


Skills and Abilities

  • Must read, write, and fluently communicate with others and colleagues
  • Must have good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, I addition to normal hours
  • Present a professional appearance and positive work ethic
  • Must be able to pass background check
  • Required to climb stairs, ladders, and use of other similar equipment
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unaided.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time
  • Required to work in inclement weather environments
