The European Market Access Associate Director is responsible to support the strategy and execution of market access activities across European countries. This position acts as a strategic partner to local affiliates, GVAP, EU leadership and global teams, ensuring alignment on reimbursement timelines, local listing, pricing and value demonstration to support business goals.
He/she will support the efforts of field market access professionals, ensuring alignments with overall corporate strategies and regional market dynamics. This role involves analyzing regional market access challenges and opportunities, tailoring strategies to meet local needs, and facilitating collaboration between cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and medical affairs.
Additionally, the regional overseer would be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of market access initiatives, providing guidance and training to field personnel, and serving as a key point of contact for external stakeholders in the region. They would also collect feedback and insights from their teams to inform higher-level strategic decisions and adjustments. Ultimately, this role aims to optimize product access and enhance the overall market position of the company’s pharmaceutical products within the region.
Essential Functions of the job:
Contribute to EU Access strategy and execution
Support the EU Market Access Lead in monitoring the progress of submissions and reimbursement timelines for BeOne new products and indications, as well as key competitors, ensuring precise tracking and reporting, providing timely updates to stakeholders and actively identifying potential risks and opportunities;
Help to gather, revise and challenge business cases for new product/indication launches and territory expansions for the European Pricing Committee, as well as pricing inputs from the countries in processes such as the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Planning (LRP), ensuring that local market insights and strategic considerations are accurately reflected in financial planning across all relevant horizons.
Contribute to the European perspective that informs GVAP deliverables and supports decision making and EMA filing by systematically gathering and organizing feedback from EU countries regarding clinical trial designs, HTA outcomes, price potential and price changes.
Supports the countries in their interactions/requests from HTA bodies, working in close alignment with EU HEOR, GVAP, regulatory, medical, and biostats;
Systematically organize key questions from HTA bodies and the corresponding answers provided by BeOne, creating an internal knowledge repository to support future launches and indications.
Assist in organizing and preparing the market access content for regular meetings with country teams, business reviews meetings with the countries GMs and quarterly business reviews;
Monitors and tracks trends in the European healthcare sector, including policy changes, pricing regulations, and health technology assessment (HTA) requirements and share the implications with country leadership team and EU market access leadership team.
Local reimbursement implementation and local listing performance metrics
Support countries in deploying negotiation tactics to optimize pricing and reimbursement outcomes with payers and reimbursement authorities throughout Europe, in collaboration with global market access, pricing and HEOR;
Help local teams to define, develop, and execute market access, pricing & reimbursement contracts for the products at national, regional and hospital levels, building on insights of local environment and customers, integrating key levers such as pricing, clinical and economic evidence, policy shaping, multi-stakeholder engagement;
Design/Implement/Manage analytics systems/CRM to track, report and consolidate at a EU level and key performance indicators (KPIs) in terms of local, regional, and hospital listing statuses for all products, delivering strategic insights to market access and commercial teams;
Drive market access excellence by identifying, sharing, and implementing best practices for mapping, segmenting, targeting and engaging local payers;
Use current forums and/or establish new platforms for continuous knowledge exchange across markets and teams;
Work closely with the European field force effectiveness team to align market access and medical activities at the territory level, maximizing impact.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct line management responsibilities.
Extensive collaboration across functions, global, regional, country teams, and external partners/vendors.
Computer Skills: Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS PowerPoint and Outlook
Other Qualifications:
Bachelors degree 8+ years of experience or Masters degree with 6+ years of experience in market access, pricing and reimbursement in the European countries within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
Preferred experience on regional/hospital formularies and FF effectiveness or CRM/Business Intelligence
Experience in additional commercial roles highly desired
Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing complex market dynamics, interpreting health policy, and managing cross-countries and cross-functional projects
Analytical competencies to structure complex data, synthesize key findings and communicate and present in an easy-to-understand manner
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise, senior-ready documentation.
Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Oncology experience strongly preferred.
Fluency in English (written and verbal).
Travel: Travel up to 50% of the time
